Lamu Island is a historic town with many old buildings, narrow streets and a friendly Arab population.
The Kenyan coast offers some of the finest white sand beaches, surrounded by coconut palms and lapped by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. These beaches are very safe because hotels and resorts operate there. You can find quieter or busier beaches; it depends on the area where you are.
Malindi Reserve and Marine Park has reefs, coral gardens in the lagoons, sea grass beds, mangroves, marshes, dolphins, turtles and countless species of fish and birds.
Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya, as well as being the main port in East Africa. It is located on an island connected to the mainland by several bridges.
