Sirimon route

Duration: 5 days and 4 nights

This is an unfrequented route that offers beautiful views of the main peaks and can be done comfortably. We will climb to Lenana Peak (4.985 m).

INCLUDES

  • Transport on SUV specially for safari where necessary.
  • All entries and fees to parks and reserves described in the itinerary.
  • Bed and breakfast in Nairobi; rest of the climbing meals on route and accommodation in camping or huts.

NOT INCLUDED

  • International Flights.
  • Travel and accident insurance. Advisable
  • Beverages, various tips (waiters / porters)
  • Personal expenses (phone, laundry, etc).
  • Entry visa on arrival or at the Embassy (40 Euros or 50 dollars, fluctuate)
  • Optional activities.
  • Gratuity to the driver/guide/porter at the end of the climbing.

Day 1: Arrival – Old Moses

From Nairobi we head towards Mount Kenya. We will stop for a picnic and continue to the Sirimon gate

We will make a comfortable three-hour walk through equatorial forests to help us acclimatize to go until the Judmaier's Camp (Old Moses) (3300 m altitude), where we overnight.  

Day 2: Likii North Camp

We will ascend by the Sirimon route to Likii North Valley and we will overnight in this beautiful little valley below the peaks of Teleki and Sendeyo in Likii North Camp (3990 m altitude).

Day 3: Shipton’s Camp

We will lead into the Mackinder Valley, one of the most extensive mountain valleys. We will camp at 4300 m under the Batian and Nelion peaks in Shipton's Camp.

Day 4: Teleki Lodge

We will have a 4-hour ascent to the Lenana Peak on the north face of the mountain, which is rarely used by tourists. From here we will have the privilege to see the beautiful scenery that stretches beneath our feet, privilege available only for a few. Then we will descend on the opposite side through the Teleki Valley to Mackinder's Camp, where we spend a good night's rest.

Day 5: Met Station – Naro Moru Gate

We will descend to the Met Station and spend another night here, or we will go directly to the Naro Moru gate where we your guide will pick you up and transfer to the airport or continue with the safari or visit to the beaches.
