Chogoria route

Duration: 5 days and 4 nights

This is by far the most beautiful and spectacular route to climb Mount Kenya during the dry season. The climbing will be done by Chogoria route and the descend by the Naro Moru route, and we will reach the Lenana Peak (4.985 m).

  • Beverages, various tips (waiters / porters)
  • Personal expenses (phone, laundry, etc).
  • Entry visa on arrival or at the Embassy (40 Euros or 50 dollars, fluctuate)
  • Optional activities.
  • Gratuity to the driver/guide/porter at the end of the climbing.

Day 1: Arrival – Meru Mt Kenya Lodge

Early depart from Nairobi, heading towards the town of Chogoria from where we will go to the park gate where we start our trek. We have a first stage where the reach 3,200 meters at the Meru Mt Kenya Lodge.  

Day 2: Likii North Camp

We will ascend by the Sirimon route to Likii North Valley and we will overnight in this beautiful little valley below the peaks of Teleki and Sendeyo in Likii North Camp (3990 m altitude).

Day 3: Mintos Hut

Full day hike. Walk along George Valley, down to Lake Michaelson before lunch. We will walk through the magnificent Castle Rock's to Mintos Hut, where we overnight.

Day 4: Teleki Lodge

We will make an ascent by the Square Tarn to reach peak Lenana. From here we will have the privilege to see the beautiful scenery that stretches beneath our feet, privilege available only for a few. Then descend to the Mackinder's Camp for the night in Teleki Lodge

Day 5: Met Station – Naro Moru Gate

We will descend to the Met Station and spend another night here, or we will go directly to the Naro Moru gate where we your guide will pick you up and transfer to the airport or continue with the safari or visit to the beaches.
