Hisia Safaris, the journey of emotions

Masai Mara National Reserve

Area: South Kenya

English

It is the park among parks, considered by many the best game reserve in Africa with its 1,510 km2.

It is Africa's image in our minds, outputs images of films like Out of Africa or Mogambo.

The Masai Mara reserve is crossed by the Mara River with its brown waters where hippos frolic, and that each year cross the migratory herds of wildebeest and zebra moving between Serengeti and Mara parks in search of better pastures during the Great Migration, finding shores full of crocodiles.

It is the territory of the Maasai tribe, who live with lions and leopards in the vastness of the savannah. You may visit the Maasai villages, where people show their way of life and customs to travelers.

Maasai Mara means endless plains, which is easier to understand if you stand at any point in the reserve and look at the horizon, seeing that it extends until you can see with your eyes.

Maasai Mara wildlife is boiling. His great animal diversity allows us to observe a variety of cats such as the lion, leopard, cheetah, serval and carcal. In addition you can find in this reserve hyenas , hippos , crocodiles , elephants, black rhinos, zebras, wildebeest, many antelopes, Masai giraffe, buffalo, warthogs ... In general, any wild animal that is living in Kenya, will be in Massai Mara.

There are over 50 species of birdlife.

With this high concentration of wildlife, with breathtaking views, and the spectacle of the Mara River and the Great Migration, we can say without fear of contradiction that no trip to Kenya would be complete without a visit to Maasai Mara.
