Samburu National Reserve is a place we love. For those travelers who have the time, we always recommend a visit of a couple of days. It is a different place, with a peculiar landscape and fauna not seen in other parks, like the reticulated giraffe, oryx beisa or gerenuk.
And in this reserve there is one of our favorite camps, Ashnil Samburu Camp. A magical, wonderful place on the bank of the Ewaso Ngiro River. From its rooms you can observe the wildlife that roams around, and it has an excellent service and facilities.
It has 30 luxurious rooms, all in front of the river so you don’t miss a detail of everything that happens around. When you wake up and open the curtains you can find perfectly an elephant drinking at the the river, or at night a reticulated giraffe eating from any acacia.
The common areas of the camp are all impeccably furnished and features also with a 24-hour infirmary.
They offer outdoor activities such as guided nature walks and night activities as traditional dances of the Samburu warriors, an ethnic group belonging to this area.
In short, a place to enjoy both wildlife and the luxury. Cultural immersion with locals and the surrounding nature. Adventure and romance. Everything in Ashnil Samburu Camp.
